Samidoun Palestinian Prisoner Solidarity Network – NY held its weekly protest outside the offices of G4S on Friday, 4 December, demanding an end to the British-Danish security corporation’s involvement in Israeli violations of Palestinian rights. G4S, subject to an international boycott and a call from Palestinian prisoners for global action against the security corporation, provides security equipment and control rooms to the Israeli prisons that imprison Palestinian prisoners, to the Israel police training center in Jerusalem, and to the checkpoints through which occupation forces control Palestinian movement, including the Beit Hanoun/Erez Crossing from Gaza, rendering G4S complicit in the siege of Gaza.

Every Friday, Samidoun protests G4S’ role in providing the infrastructure for the dispossession, oppression, imprisonment and killing of Palestinians at the hands of occupation forces. G4S is also known for human rights abuses in Canada, the UK, the US, South Africa and elsewhere, providing security services for mining corporations and acting as contractors in detention and deportation. The next New York City protest will take place on Friday, 11 December at 4:00 pm, focusing on the call to free Khalida Jarrar and all Palestinian prisoners from occupation prisons.

The protests are also part of the international call on the United Nations to drop G4S from its contractors list and cancel its contracts with G4S because of its lengthy record of human rights violations.
