Washington DC: 70 Years too Long – Nakba Vigil and Storytelling

15 May 2018 @ 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm

Tuesday, 15 May
5:00 pm
Dupont Circle

Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/events/227890281293841/

Join us to remember the 450 villages erased by Israel in 1948 and to support a free Palestine, a free Gaza, and the Great Return March.

In 1948, Israel expelled over half of the entire Palestinian population in order to become a majority Jewish state. After 70 years, Palestinians still insist on the right to return to their homeland.

Join us for a life size visual display, Nakba storytelling, exhibit, and vigil honoring the Nakba in 1948 and those who have died in Gaza during the Great Return March 2018.

Performers and storytellers include:

Oud and vocals by Fuad Foty
Poetry by Samar Najia
Nakba education by Philip Farah
Storytelling by Nora Burgan
Storytelling by Jamal Najjab
[more to be confirmed]

Cosponsors: Ad Hoc Committee for the Nakba, Washington Interfaith Alliance for Middle East Peace (WIAMEP), US Palestinian Community Network (USPCN), Palestinian Christian Alliance for Peace – PCAP (PCAP), American Muslims for Palestine (AMP), and Jewish Voice for Peace – DC Metro
