Palestinian prisoners play a very important role in the Palestinian struggle for liberation ever since Israel has criminalized all forms of Palestinian existence and resistance. Arbitrary arrests and the imprisonment of Palestinians who peacefully demonstrate against the Israeli occupation happen on a daily-basis and, today, there are around 6,500 Palestinians held in Israeli prisons, out of which approximately 250 are children.

Joe Catron is a journalist who has lived in Gaza for over three years, where he worked directly with prisoners’ families and former prisoners. He is now the U.S. coordinator of Samidoun, the Palestinian Prisoner Solidarity Network. Come hear from him more about the Palestinian Prisoners’ Struggle!
