Detroit: Day of Rage: Land and Annexation
July 5 @ 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm
Sunday, 5 July
5800 Ogden St.
Detroit, MI, USA
The Zionist entity known as Israel threatens to launch its formal annexation of Palestinian land on July 1st. This land grab expands on the existing military occupation and settler-colonial agenda aimed at the ethnic cleansing of Palestinians from their homeland. In response, Palestinians under Israeli occupation and across the diaspora are calling for Day of Rage actions.
The Palestinian Youth Movement (PYM) recognizes that combating Zionism is also a part of the global fight against racism, colonialism, and imperialism. This Sunday, the PYM Michigan chapter is responding to the call for Day of Rage actions through our continued efforts to build with, and alongside, Black and indigenous movements against racism and oppression in the U.S occupied Turtle Island.
We want to take this opportunity to gather our comrades and collectively work the land of Waawiiyatanong on a comrade’s Farm. Through this collective action, we hope to reconnect our communities with the land, its significance to indigenous peoples, and our responsibilities to counter colonization around the world. Please join us for an interactive work day on the farm followed by a community discussion, dinner, and bonfire.
