Israel is currently stepping up its 73year ethnic cleansing and aggression against the Palestinian people, which the international human rights organisation Human Rights Watch, has recently defined as the crime of APARTHEID.
Not only is the Israeli security forces at this moment forcing Palestinians out of their homes in Sheikh Jarrar in East Jerusalem. The residents who already lost their homes and became refugees in 1948 in the creation of modern day Israel, nor attacking and shooting Palestinians as they were praying during their holy month of Ramadan in Al Aqsa, BUT they are also now bombing the 14year illegally and brutally blockaded densely populated, civilian district of Gaza with 9 children being killed on the first night.

The Government of Jersey seeks closer relations with the apartheid state of Israel and we have been made aware by Israeli human rights activists, that we have a lot of Israeli money invested in our island, including money connected to both illegal settlements and Netanyahu himself.
As an island once occupied, who required others to fight for our freedom, we ought to have a particular responsibility to not provide services to regimes committing such crimes and additionally, should understand the need to take a stance and pressure our government to comply with international law and cease its relations with Israel until it complies with international law and additionally to demand the international community intervene in a meaningful way!
