Join Al-Awda PRRC, ANSWER Coalition, and CodePink: Women for Peace, on Tuesday, August 6th as we welcome Janna Jihad, a Palestinian activist, journalist, and youth voice against occupation. Hailing from the occupied West Bank town of Nabi Saleh, the 13-year-old Janna is one of the world’s youngest accredited journalists. Due to the brutality of Israeli occupation, Jihad has been reporting since the age of 7 after two of her relatives were killed by Israeli forces. She has already received international awards and a role as ambassador for South Africa’s Palestinian program Shamsaan [“Two Suns”]. Also join us in welcoming Nadia Meer, an organizer with Shamsaan who has been accompanying Janna as her mentor.

On Tuesday, August 6th, Janna is continuing her first US speaking tour to keep sharing the stories of struggle and resistance from Palestine. This speaking tour will allow her to connect with other passionate youth and activists from across the world, and we hope that you will join us to hear her passion-driven work for the respect of human rights, for an end to Israeli occupation, and for the freedom of her people!

Doors open: 6:30PM
Program starts: 7:00PM
