Join our rally on the 4th of July in front of Sheffield Town Hall at 12 pm, against Israel’s annexation plan and its systems of apartheid and settler-colonialism, urging sanctions on Israel!

Under the shadow of the Coronavirus pandemic and with support from the Trump-led US Administration, Israel is planning to annex huge parts of occupied Palestinian territories, a war crime under International Law.

Israel’s annexation is part and parcel of an ethnic cleansing project, which has targeted the Palestinian people since 1948. Israel’s ongoing settler-colonial expansion has already forced Palestinians into small, segregated and densely populated enclaves that are reminiscent of Bantustans during apartheid in South Africa.

If the annexation goes ahead, Israeli apartheid would enforce on a further twelve thousand of the indigenous people of Palestine who live in the Jordan Valley, the decades-long despicable treatment of the Palestinians of Jerusalem and Al-Naqav Bedouin communities.

It would lead to:
1-Mass house demolitions and expulsions;
2-Further fragmentation of the Palestinian communities in order to prevent the development of any cohesive national movement;
3-Further control over Palestinian access to their land and water resources;
4-Even more military domination over the local population whilst denying them any rights to citizenship or any legal rights.

Since its foundation in 1948, Israel has waged a genocidal process against millions of Palestinians through an entrenching system of apartheid and settler colonialism, facilitated by the international community.

We condemn the British Government’s failure to take meaningful action to end Israel’s longstanding apartheid policies against the Palestinian people. This is the minimum Britain can do as an apology to the Palestinian people for being complicit in their dehumanization; not only did Britain promise their lands as a homeland to the Zionists in the notorious Balfour Declaration of 1917, but they have supported Israel ever since economically, politically and militarily.

Palestinians have had enough of perfunctory words of condemnation that have only contributed to prolonging their suffering whilst increasing Israel’s culture of impunity. It is time for imposing sanctions on Israeli apartheid to defeat it the same way South African apartheid was defeated.

On the 4th of July, free people across the Globe will be taking it to the streets in solidarity with the Palestinian people’s call for action. Join us on 4 July 2020 in front of Sheffield Town Hall at 12 pm to call for sanctions on Israeli apartheid, and freedom, justice and equality to the Palestinian people.
