Rally in support of the March of Return, Palestinian sumoud and resistance! Stop Israeli crimes!

May 15, 2018, marks 70 years of Palestinian sumoud and resistance to the Nakba (catastrophe in Arabic). On 15 May 1948 the people of Palestine were stripped of their rights after the proclamation of the State of Israel. In the months before and after that day, 400 Palestinian villages were destroyed by the Zionist armed forces, forcing 800,000 Palestinians on the road of exile to neighboring countries where they gathered into refugee camps.

Since 30 March 2018, every Friday, tens of thousands of Palestinians – especially in Gaza – are demonstrating in the Great March of Return for the right of return to their lands from which they were dispossessed in 1948 and for the lifting of the Israeli siege on the Gaza Strip, which has lasted for nearly 11 years.

Since 30 March, every Friday the Israeli army opens fire on peaceful civilians. To date, the record is terrible: at least 40 dead, 3,500 injured. In spite of these massacres, the support of the United States to Israel does not weaken and the complicit silence of the French government and Europe continues.

So together, let’s say enough!

The criminal and illegal blockade of Gaza must be broken, Israel must respect international law, including UN Resolution 194 on the refugees’ right to return. Impunity must end! We must put an end to the Israeli occupation and apartheid regime by building solidarity with the Palestinian people, especially through the Boycott Divestment Sanctions campaign.

12 May, let us be numerous in the streets of Toulouse for Palestine!

Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/events/239672896591684/

We gather to mark 70 years since the beginning of al-Nakba, the Palestinian catastrophe. We commemorate all victims of the many years of persecution of the Palestinian people and the ongoing ethnic cleansing of Palestine. We demonstrate against Israeli occupation and annexation of Palestine, for the human rights of Palestinians and for refugees’ right to return.

The Palestinian music group al-Ashekeen will participate in the demonstration.
