Badr al-Ruzza, 26, of Nablus, was arrested on 13 May 2014 and sent to administrative detention without charge or trial, which has been renewed twice following the initial order. He is single; he began his hunger strike on 20 August 2015. Israeli special forces traveling in a civilian car commandeered Ruzzah’s car as he and a friend traveled on Jerusalem street at Balata refugee camp east of Nablus.
The arrest came only weeks after the re-arrest of Badr’s father, Hussam al-Ruzza, who was himself held in administrative detention until his release on 3 July of this year and has been one of the longest-serving administrative detainees.
