On 19 February 2025, Samidoun’s co-founder Charlotte Kates appeared on Press TV with Mazin Qumsiyeh, Palestinian scientist, organizer and human rights defender, based in Bethlehem. They discussed the ongoing Zionist assault on Palestinians in the West Bank, including the aggression targeting Palestinian refugee camps in Jenin, Tubas and Tulkarem, and the ongoing strength of the resistance to defend the Palestinian people and struggle for the liberation of Palestine.
In another outrageous act by the French judiciary, only hours after postponing the decision on the release of Georges Abdallah in order to pressure him to pay tens of thousands of Euros to the United States, the Council of State upheld Interior Minister Gerald Darmanin’s 2002 dissolution order against the Collectif Palestine Vaincra, effectively banning the Palestine solidarity organization, based in Toulouse. Samidoun Palestinian Prisoner Solidarity Network stands in full solidarity with the Collectif Palestine Vaincra and calls upon organizations around the world to speak out against France’s complicity and direct participation in the US-Zionist genocide in Palestine, including its ongoing and dangerous repression against the Palestine liberation movement in France itself.
The order, issued in 2022, had been suspended by an order of the Council of State until today due to its effect on freedom of expression. In a shocking order, the Council stated that while the Collectif’s posts expressing solidarity with the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine and denouncing the listing of Hamas as a “terrorist” organization were insufficient reasons to ban the organization, and that the organization’s anti-Zionism and commitment to a free Palestine from the river to the sea fell within the grounds of free expression, that the Collectif can be banned because of allegedly “hateful” Facebook comments (not posts!) left by random non-members of the group that were not deleted quickly enough, despite the fact that the Collectif is a small, all-volunteer group. To be clear, the legal justification for the silencing, censorship and prohibition of the Collectif Palestine Vaincra is “insufficient moderation” of Facebook comments (even as the organization’s page has itself not been banned by the notoriously anti-Palestinian Meta!).
This ludicrous legal pretext was previously used to uphold the similarly political dissolution of the Collective Against Islamophobia in France (now the Collective Against Islamophobia in Europe), and is now being used to provide cover for an act that is clearly political censorship and repression of the highest order. This is taking place at the same time, of course, that hundreds of people across France are being pursued for “apology for terrorism” for speaking or posting on social media about the legitimacy of the Palestinian resistance, that Georges Abdallah remains imprisoned for over 40 years, and, of course, as France continues to ship weapons to and provide diplomatic and political cover for the US-Zionist genocide against the Palestinian people. It also comes one day after the Paris prefecture banned all demonstrations in the city for the release of Georges Abdallah, in striking reminiscence of the ban on all Palestine demonstrations across the country in Fall 2023.
The attack on the Collectif Palestine Vaincra only underlines the necessity of building the broadest, strongest alliance for Palestine, insisting on full and clear support for the Palestinian resistance to occupation by all means, led by the armed resistance forces; the liberation of Palestine from the river to the sea; and a firm commitment to anti-imperialist organizing and solidarity. It is clear that the imperialist states — from the dissolution of the CPV to the listing of Samidoun as a “terrorist entity” in Canada, its sanctioning in the US and its ban in Germany, alongside the arrest and prosecution of activists and organizers throughout the imperial core — view this mobilization in support of the resistance forces as an intolerable threat, which must encourage us to build and organize even more strongly, on a firm and principled basis, to build the international popular cradle of the Resistance.
The Palestine Vaincra Collective is dissolved: support for Palestinian resistance continues!
The Collectif Palestine Vaincra was dissolved today, 20 February 2025, following the rejection of our request to the Council of State to annul the dissolution decree. This followed a lengthy campaign of attacks and defamation led in particular by organizations close to the Israeli far right and abundantly fueled both at the local level — with Jean-Luc Mondenc, current mayor of Toulouse, at the head — and nationally by the voice of Emmanuel Macron himself. Gérald Darmanin, then Minister of the Interior, announced the dissolution of the Collectif Palestine Vaincra at the request of the President of the Republic in February 2022. Macron signed the decree in the Council of Ministers a few days later, on 9 March 2022. In response, we filed an appeal with the Council of State to request its suspension, a request for interim relief that was granted in April 2022. This was a political victory for the Collectif Palestine Vaincra since the Council of State had thus recognized the emptiness of the attacks made by the Minister of the Interior. This victory was made possible thanks to the broad support expressed by dozens of organizations and thousands of people in France and in many countries around the world. We thus resumed our mobilization in support of the resistance of the Palestinian people, stronger and more determined than ever. It was almost three years later, on 27 January, that this administrative dissolution would be assessed on the merits by the Council of State and was therefore today confirmed by the highest administrative court.
We denounce this eminently political decision, which is an unprecedented blow against the entire Palestine solidarity movement in France. In a context of the extreme intensification of state repression, it is clear that through this attack, all organizations and individuals who oppose the government and its policy are targeted. Beyond the disappearance of the Collectif Palestine Vaincra, this dissolution is therefore above all a significant collective defeat, made possible by the weaknesses of a largely insufficient mobilization in view of the blows dealt by the State against the organizations that fight its deadly policy. But it is never too late, it is more necessary than ever to build a front of resistance to confront it! Obviously, this dissolution reminds us once again that more than for more than 15 months, through its unconditional support for the Zionist State, France is complicit in the ongoing genocide in Gaza and the continuation of colonization throughout occupied Palestine.
Since these lines are also those of assessment, we recall that since its creation in 2019, the Collectif Palestine Vaincra has, with many organizations, tirelessly occupied the field in Toulouse and elsewhere to support the Palestinian resistance in its legitimate fight against imperialism and Zionism and to defend the only just and sustainable perspective in the region: a free Palestine from the river to the sea. These are indeed the political positions defended by the collective that the French authorities have tried to silence by all means at their disposal. We nevertheless affirm that we proudly and fully support the results of these years which have allowed the Collectif Palestine Vaincra to lead numerous campaigns to boycott the Zionist state, particularly in Toulouse against the twinning of the city with Tel Aviv, in support of Palestinian prisoners, and a remarkable mobilization to demand the release of Georges Abdallah who, as you know, saw his 10th request for release adjourned until 19 June by the Paris Court of Appeal which made his release conditional on compensation for the civil parties, namely the United States. Their relentlessness continues; our mobilization must continue!
But despite this dissolution, one thing is certain: the imperialists and their allies will not stop the growing mobilization of support for the Palestinian people and their resistance. We can only rejoice to see how this mobilization is growing, notably thanks to a young generation with an anti-imperialist viewpoint forged in the fight against genocide and its accomplices, and which clearly supports radically anti-Zionist and anti-colonialist positions in support of the Palestinian resistance. Likewise, despite more than 76 years of settler colonialism, the Palestinian people demonstrate every day that they are standing firm and that they are continuing their fight until the return of all refugees and until the liberation of Palestine, all of Palestine, from the river to the sea. And they will always be able to count on the millions of people across the planet who embrace the formula of the Arab intellectual and revolutionary Samah Idriss: “If we abandon Palestine, we abandon ourselves.”
Palestine will live! Palestine will win!
The Collectif Palestine Vaincra, February 20, 2025
Today, as the world waited for the final ruling on the liberation of Georges Abdallah, the Lebanese Communist fighter for Palestine jailed in France for 40 years, the French Court of Appeal has postponed their ruling until 19 June.
In November 2024, a French court ordered Georges liberated after 40 years in French prisons, despite being eligible for release since 1999. However, the state appealed the case, with a ruling expected today — now the decision has been postponed an additional four months.
According to his lawyer, Jean-Louis Chalanset, the court postponed its decision so that the convicted person could “compensate” the “civil parties” — that is, compensate the United States government as a “victim,” for the CIA agent and Mossad agent killed in the Lebanese Armed Revolutionary Faction’s operation — something he has always refused to do. Chalanset noted that “Once again, they give in to the United States.” In fact, in Georges’ original trial, he was expected to be sentenced to no more than 10 years prior to the intervention of the United States in the case. Georges Abdallah has always maintained that he would never compensate the United States for dropping bombs on Palestinian and Lebanese people.
This is not the first time that Georges Abdallah was ordered released by the French judiciary, only to have his liberation blocked by the political arms of the state; perhaps the best-known example is that of 2013, when Manuel Valls, then minister of the interior — also known for his criminal prosecutions of activists calling for the boycott of the Zionist regime — blocked his release. Multiple US officials have repeatedly also interfered in his case, from the original trial in 1986 to Secretaries of State Condoleeza Rice and Hillary Clinton intervening in attempts to block his freedom in succeeding appeals.
Notably, French prosecutors had referred to the political situation in Lebanon and the ongoing Zionist attacks on the country and its Resistance as a reason why it was “dangerous” to release Georges Abdallah in their appeal. It is clear that the French — and U.S. — political leadership also do not want to return their unjustly held prisoner only days before the mass funeral for Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah and Sayyed Hashem Safieddine will take the streets in Beirut. France’s imprisonment of Georges Abdallah is part and parcel of its complicity in Zionist-imperialist genocide in Palestine and Lebanon, alongside its armaments and political and diplomatic cover for the Israeli aggression and its ongoing persecution of activists and organizations struggling for justice in Palestine.
Georges Abdallah has been saluted by the Palestinian prisoners’ movement as part of its ranks, and has joined with the Palestinian prisoners in hunger strikes and other protest actions. The movement for his liberation has grown significantly in recent years. Thousands marched outside the prison where he is held in Lannemezan in October 2024, calling for his freedom and return to his homeland, Lebanon. He was visited by several French members of the National Assembly and Members of European Parliament in recent weeks, and 11 Lebanese Parliamentarians raised their voices to demand his freedom and liberation.
For the full story of Georges Abdallah, watch the film Fedayin, on his life and struggle:
Facing the imperialist powers from France to the United States to the Zionist entity, it is urgent to continue our mobilization and action to FREE GEORGES ABDALLAH NOW — Georges Abdallah must be free!
The Palestinian resistance is holding a ceremony for the handover of four bodies of Zionist prisoners of the resistance killed by occupation warplanes on the morning of 20 February, in which liberation fighters, liberated Palestinian prisoners — including Mohammed Abu Warda, sentenced to 46 life sentences and freed in Toufan al-Ahrar — and the families of Palestinian martyrs, are participating. Signs on the platform make clear the response of the resistance to the Trump/Netanyahu threats of displacement and launching the assault on Gaza once again,
This event comes as the Palestinian people and the world are preparing for a significant development in the prisoner exchange, as resistance forces move toward the second phase of ceasefire negotiations in Gaza. In a speech on Tuesday, 18 February, Khalil al-Hayya, leader of Hamas, the Islamic Resistance Movement, in Gaza, said that the Palestinian resistance will turn over the bodies of four Zionist prisoners killed by the bombs of the genocidal occupation forces on Thursday, 20 February, in exchange for the release of Palestinian women and child prisoners, and will release six Zionist prisoners on Saturday, 22 February, all as part of the first stage of the ceasefire.
Under the Toufan al-Ahrar, Flood of the Free, prisoner exchange, the Zionist regime will release on Saturday, 22 February:
445 Palestinians seized from Gaza after 7 October 2023;
51 Palestinian prisoners with life sentences;
59 Palestinian prisoners with high sentences’
47 Palestinians re-arrested after their release in the Wafa’a al-Ahrar prisoner exchange in 2011;
200 Palestinian women and children abducted by the occupation after 7 October 2023.
Abu Obeida, the military spokesperson of the Izz el-Din al-Qassam Brigades, said:
As part of Al-Aqsa Flood deal for prisoner exchange, the resistance will hand over the bodies of the Bibas family and the body of the prisoner Oded Lifshitz tomorrow, Thursday, 20/2/2025.
They were alive before their detention centers were deliberately bombed by the zionist occupation aircraft.
Abu Hamza, spokesperson of Saraya al-Quds, said:
Saraya Al-Quds has decided to release the remains of the zionist captive Oded Lifshitz, one of the captives whom the zionist enemy deliberately killed in airstrikes during Al-Aqsa Flood battle. The release will take place tomorrow, Thursday, February 20, 2025, as part of the seventh batch of the first phase of the prisoner exchange deal.
Abu Bilal, spokesperson of the Mujahideen Brigades, said:
As part of the first phase of the prisoner exchange agreement with the Palestinian resistance, and by the will of Allah, the bodies of the Bibas family will be handed over tomorrow, Thursday, February 20, 2025. The family was captured by a group of Al-Mujahideen Brigades fighters on October 7, 2023, and were preserved and treated well in accordance with the noble teachings of Islam before being killed when the Zionist occupation bombed them, leading to their deaths along with the martyrdom of the capturing group. The Brigades have safeguarded the family’s bodies throughout the war until the date of their handover.
Amid the return of the bodies of prisoners killed by the occupation bombardment of Gaza, the National Campaign to Liberate the Bodies of the Martyrs highlighted the fact that the Zionist entity continues to detain 665 bodies of Palestinian and Arab martyrs in the morgues and numbers cemeteries, most recently those of Yousef al-Tayeh (who had been released from the Palestinian Authority’s “security coordination” prisons only hours before), Mohammed Barieh and Yousef al-Asmar, the three martyrs of al-Fara’a camp killed on Wednesday night, 19 February, by the Zionist regime; the three resistance fighters defended themselves against invading forces, besieged inside a home, until the house was bombed by the occupation forces. The invading forces then kidnapped the bodies of the martyrs.
This figure comes in addition to the abducted bodies of Palestinian martyrs from Gaza, a number that has not been disclosed; Zionist media has reported that as many as 1,500 martyred Palestinians’ bodies may be held at the Sde Teiman torture camp.
Saturday’s prisoner exchange will include the liberation of a number of prominent Palestinians serving long-term sentences. While no releases can be confirmed until the final list and their physical liberation, multiple media reports indicate that Dr. Hussam Abu Safiya, the heroic pediatrician and director of Kamal ‘Udwan Hospital, who kept his hospital open amid the ongoing genocide, caring for the wounded and saving lives, until he was abducted by occupation forces as they burned the hospital in December 2024, will be among the 445 Palestinians from Gaza liberated in the exchange. Dr. Abu Safiya has become a symbol of the occupation’s war on Palestinian healthcare and medical workers.
Among those expected to be liberated in this Saturday’s exchange are:
Nael Barghouti, the longest-held Palestinian prisoner; Nael Barghouti has been imprisoned since 1978 and was repeatedly denied release until 2011, when he was liberated in the Wafaa al-Ahrar prisoner exchange. After his release, he married fellow former prisoner Iman Nafeh. On 18 June 2014, he was seized by occupation forces, who then reimposed his former sentence, along with dozens of Palestinians freed in the exchange.
Alaa el-Din Bazian, another veteran Palestinian prisoner, who was born in Jerusalem in 1958 and joined the resistance in the Fateh movement in 1977. He was imprisoned between 1979 and 1981, then released before being arrested again and sentenced to 20 years in prison. He was liberated in 1985 in the prisoner exchange conducted by the PFLP-General Command; then re-arrested in 1986 and sentenced to life in prison. Liberated in the Wafa’ al-Ahrar exchange in 2011, he was re-abducted in 2014, and his original sentence re-imposed.
Samer Mahroum, from Jenin, imprisoned since 1986 as one of the comrades of Omar Nayef Zayed, liberated in the Wafa al-Ahrar exchange in 2011. Like Alaa el-Din Bazian and Nael Barghouti, he was re-arrested in 2014 and his original sentence re-imposed. He married only two months before his re-arrest, and while imprisoned, had two children through liberated sperm — his son Adam and daughter Yasmine.
Abdul-Nasser Issa, imprisoned since 1995. Born in Balata refugee camp in Nablus in 1968, who joined the Hamas movement upon its launch and then the al-Qassam Brigades, carrying out multiple operations as a comrade of Mohammed Deif, Yahya Ayyash and Muhyideen al-Sharif. Serving 2 life sentences, he became one of the leaders of the prisoners’ movement, serving as the representative of Hamas prisoners and one of the architects of the 2006 Prisoners’ Document, as well as writing multiple articles and studies behind bars.
Othman Bilal, imprisoned since 1995. Born in 1969 in Nablus, he joined the Hamas movement from its inception and its military wing, the al-Qassam Brigades Sentenced to 27 life sentences, he worked closely with Abdul-Nasser Issa, Yahya Ayyash and Muhyideen al-Sharif in carrying out multiple resistance operations. His brother Muath Bilal is sentenced to 26 life sentences plus 25 years and his brother Obada was deported to Turkey following his release in the Wafa al-Ahrar exchange.
Ammar al-Zaben, imprisoned since 1998. Born in Nablus in 1975, he is married, with two sons and two daughters. He joined the al-Qassam Brigades, joining a cell with the specific goal of capturing occupation soldiers in order to exchange them to liberate Palestinian prisoners. He is considered the first Palestinian prisoner to use liberated sperm to have children with his wife. He is sentenced to 27 life sentences plus 25 years; his mother was martyred in 2004 as she participated in a hunger strike in solidarity with the striking Palestinian prisoners inside occupation jails.
The Palestinian Resistance has repeatedly insisted on moving forward with the second round of the ceasefire agreement, including the occupation fulfilling its responsibilities in the first round, such as allowing the entry of heavy construction equipment and mobile homes into Gaza, as well as fully withdrawing from all occupied areas. In the meantime, the occupation, working hand in hand with the United States and its imperialist partners, is avidly seeking to block the progress of the ceasefire, issuing threats to displace Palestinians while demanding that Palestinian resistance forces disarm and that the leadership leave Gaza, while all Palestinians have remained clear that the future of Gaza is solely a Palestinian future. In a recent speech at the Al Jazeera Forum, Osama Hamdan, Hamas leader, said: “Internal affairs are a Palestinian decision, and whoever wants to replace ‘Israel,’ we will treat them as ‘Israel’—clearly. Whoever wants to act as an agent for ‘Israel’ must bear the consequences of being its agent. The issue of the resistance’s weapons, the resistance’s leaders, the resistance’s people, and our relationship with the resistance’s supporters, all of this is outside of any discussion. It is impossible for us to accept anyone talking to us about it, and we will not allow it to be brought up at all.”
The Resistance also once again issued a clear proposal to exchange all Zionist prisoners held by the resistance for all Palestinian prisoners held in Zionist jails, the “all for all” exchange called for by the resistance since 7 October 2023.
The Zionist regime has routinely and repeatedly violated the ceasefire agreement, including through blocking the entry of tents, mobile homes and heavy construction equipment; sniping Palestinians throughout Gaza, including killing three Gaza police officers organizing the reception and distribution of aid in Rafah; and blocking aid to northern Gaza, not to mention its ongoing assaults on Palestinians throughout the West Bank.
Georges Abdallah, the Lebanese Arab struggler for Palestine imprisoned in France for the past 40 years, despite being eligible for release since 1999, was finally ordered released in November 2024 by a French court, to return to his homeland, Lebanon. However, French prosecutors immediately appealed the order for his liberation, which has delayed his release; notably, unlike earlier judicial orders for his release, this order is not contingent on political officials choosing to sign a deportation order.
Upon the appeal, the order for his release was suspended; however, the Court of Appeal is scheduled to render its verdict tomorrow — 20 February. Across France, throughout Europe and internationally, thousands are taking action under the slogan, “Georges Abdallah must be free!”
Actions and protests have been mobilized to call for Georges Abdallah’s immediate liberation, with posters and banners highlighting the case. In Paris, a massive banner was dropped linking the struggle to free Georges Abdallah with the liberation of Palestine.
On 13 February, student activists across Toulouse organized a day of mobilization for Georges Abdallah’s release, at the initiative of the Union Etudiante, including letter-writing, protests, and collective actions for Palestine, including a call to block twinning with Zionist universities, in particular the relationship between Sciences Po Toulouse and Ben-Gurion University.
This followed upon an 8 February national march in Paris called for by the Unitary Campaign for the Liberation of Georges Abdallah, in which thousands participated, with participants coming from dozens of cities across France for a unified demonstration raising its clear voice for the liberation of this Lebanese political prisoner for Palestine in French jails. Participants also raised slogans calling for the release of Christian Tein, a leader of the Kanaky movement imprisoned in France, and denouncing the dissolution proceedings against the Collectif Palestine Vaincra, the Toulouse-based Palestine solidarity organization known for its tireless campaign for Georges Abdallah’s liberation.
“We are here also to tell Darmanin, Retaillau, Macron and all the others that they can try to dissolve the Collectif Palestine Vaincra, they can prosecute hundreds of people for ‘apology for terrorism,’ they can repress us widely, they will not stop the inexorable solidarity with the resistance of the Palestinian people who are fighting for the liberation of Palestine, of all of Palestine, from the river to the sea! So today more than ever, let us not give up and affirm clearly, not only that Georges Abdallah will be freed on February 20 but also that Palestine will live, and above all, Palestine will win.” French interior minister Gérald Darmanin ordered the Collectif dissolved in 2022, but the implementation of this order was suspended as the appeal proceeded before the Council of State. Now, the Council of State is also expected to release its ruling on the dissolution of CPV on 20 February as well, making it a doubly significant date for the Palestinian cause in France.
Several French parliamentarians, including MEP Rima Hassan and member of the National Assembly Eric Coquerel, visited Georges Abdallah in Lannemezan prison amid the anticipation of the 20 February court ruling.
In addition, 11 Lebanese members of parliament — MPs Elias Jarada, Osama Saad, Abdul Rahman Al-Bizri, Hussein Al-Hajj Hassan, Ibrahim Al-Moussawi, Melhem Al-Hajjiri, Hassan Murad, Jimmy Jabbour, Asaad Dargham, Charbel Massad and Sajih Attieh — issued a letter urging the immediate return of Georges Abdallah to Lebanon, saying: “France, which raises the slogans of human rights and justice, is required today to prove its commitment to these principles by ending this injustice that has been ongoing for decades.”

There are demonstrations in many cities today, listed below, urging the release of Georges Abdallah. Samidoun Palestinian Prisoner Solidarity Network joins with all of those urging his immediate liberation and calling for global actions to demand justice for this tireless struggler for Palestinian, Arab and human liberation.
The Unitary Campaign for the Liberation of Georges Abdallah has compiled at least 35 actions taking place today, 19 February, with one message: “Georges Abdallah Must Be Free!” Join an action near you, with details below.
In one of the egregious attempts of the French state to suppress support for Georges Abdallah, the demonstration in Paris this evening was banned by the prefecture on several ludicrous grounds, including that far-right fascists attacked Turkish and Kurdish activists and that the demonstration might be attacked by similar fascists. We note in this context that one of the grounds for the dissolution of the Collectif Palestine Vaincra is its support for Georges Abdallah; these incidents clearly indicate the French state’s willingness to use heavy repressive powers in order to keep one of the longest-held political prisoners in the world behind bars. While an urgent appeal has been filed, the organizations in Paris are urging all to attend tonight’s action in Aubervilliers.

On Saturday, 15 February, 369 Palestinian prisoners will be liberated by the Palestinian resistance in the latest installment of the first stage of Toufan al-Ahrar, the Flood of the Free, the prisoner exchange agreement. These include 36 Palestinians serving life sentences in occupation prisons and 333 Palestinians from Gaza abducted by the occupation forces as part of their genocidal assault since 7 October 2023. 766 Palestinians have already been liberated in the exchange; after the exchanges scheduled for Saturday, 1135 Palestinians will have been liberated as part of the first stage.
These liberations come after the Palestinian resistance made clear that it could not tolerate the ongoing violations of the ceasefire agreement by the occupation, particularly the obstruction of heavy construction equipment, tents and caravans/mobile homes from entering Gaza, the obstruction of trucks of aid to northern Gaza, and the ongoing sniping and attacks on Palestinians returning to their homes throughout the Gaza strip, which has led to the martyrdom of over 100 Palestinians since the ceasefire. In addition, the occupation forces have repeatedly abused the Palestinian prisoners being released, with multiple liberated prisoners reporting being beaten until the moment they were turned over to the Red Cross, as well as their families; their families have been targeted for raids, arrests and attacks for celebrating and even welcoming their liberated loved ones.
After Hamas, the Islamic Resistance Movement, declared that it would postpone Saturday’s exchange if these issues were not addressed, the occupation conceded to the Resistance’s demands to comply with the terms of the ceasefire agreement, despite the threats of ethnic cleansing by both Zionist prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu and US president Donald Trump. The Yemeni mass marches as well as the government and armed forces and AnsarAllah movement also made clear that it would not hesitate to intervene should the US or the Zionist forces launch a new assault or displacement attack against Palestinians.
Earlier on Friday, 14 February, Abu Obeida, the spokesperson of the Izz el-Din al-Qassam Brigades announced that the resistance had decided to release three Zionist prisoners:
Abu Hamza, the military spokesperson of Saraya al-Quds, also announced that Saraya al-Quds has decided to release Alexander Troufanov. They previously released a video of the prisoner of war, in which Troufanov described how fighters of Saraya al-Quds defended him from Zionist bombing.
The Prisoners’ Media Office released the spreadsheets of names of Palestinian prisoners to be liberated on Saturday, 15 February as part of Toufan al-Ahrar, which we have translated below. Samidoun will provide updates throughout the day, and we encourage you to follow us on Telegram and X for the latest news.

Once again, as throughout the history of prisoner exchanges, it has been made clear that it is the resistance that brings liberation, to the prisoners, the land and the people of Palestine, a resistance that stretches from the heart of Gaza, throughout Palestine, to Yemen, Lebanon, Iraq and Iran, and to the people of the world. Samidoun Palestinian Prisoner Solidarity Network salutes all of the prisoners, their families and loved ones, and the Resistance and the people of Gaza who have made their liberation possible.
We urge everyone, around the world, to join with the Palestinian people in Gaza and everywhere, to celebrate the achievements of the Resistance and the humiliation of the occupier, and to celebrate and welcome each liberated prisoner as the heroes of our global movement that they are, in public events, with posters and public education, with actions and events exposing Zionism and imperialism everywhere.
We urge all supporters of Palestine and Palestinian and Arab communities to receive and honour the prisoners virtually and symbolically — and pledge to continue the movement until all of them are free, and all of Palestine is free, from the river to the sea.
183 Palestinian prisoners were liberated today, Saturday, 8 February, in the latest installment of the first stage of the Toufan al-Ahrar, Flood of the Free, prisoner exchange achieved by the Palestinian Resistance. These included 18 with life sentences, 54 with long sentences, and 111 Palestinians from Gaza abducted by the occupation. So far, including today, 766 Palestinians jailed by the occupation have been liberated in the exchange, despite the repeated threats of the occupation, ongoing beating of prisoners the day of their release, and invasions and attacks on prisoners’ families homes in an attempt to steal and silence their joy at reunifying with their loved ones.
In the morning on Saturday, the Izz el-Din al-Qassam Brigades held a mass military parade and popular event in Deir al-Balah, central Gaza, to exchange the three Zionist prisoners that the Resistance decided to release: Eliyahu Datsun Yosef Sharabi; Or Avraham Lisha Levy; and Ohad Ben Ami. The exchange took place in a clear response to the Trump-Netanyahu threats of expulsion and ethnic cleansing against the Palestinian people in Gaza, with the exchange conducted in front of a banner that read, “We are the Flood — The War’s Next Day,” in a clear rebuke to all forces that have attempted or threatened to impose new forms of foreign occupation and exploitation on Gaza on the “day after.”
The released Zionist prisoners wore brown uniforms labeled “Detained by Al-Qassam Brigades,” and the entire exchange ceremony once again displayed — as has each before — the deep popular cradle of the Resistance and its strength despite the horrific genocidal US-Zionist assault over the past 16 months.
In sharp contrast, once again the Zionist occupation regime released the Palestinian prisoners immediately after beating and torturing them, with attacks so severe that 7 liberated prisoners were transferred to hospital immediately upon their release. These included Sheikh Jamal al-Tawil, the leader of Hamas, former mayor of El-Bireh, and the father of journalist Bushra al-Tawil, who was liberated in the first exchange of Toufan al-Ahrar. He was beaten so badly that he was unable to walk out of the bus upon his release.
The Prisoners’ Media Office issued a statement:
Press statement issued by the Director of the Prisoners’ Media Office, Ahmed Al-Qudra
On the occasion of the release of the fifth batch of prisoners of the “Toufan al-Ahrar” exchange
The prisoner exchange deals that the Palestinian resistance extracts from the occupation continue, with 183 prisoners released today from Zionist prisons, including 18 sentenced to life, 54 with long sentences, and 111 prisoners from Gaza who were arrested after October 7. This release came as a result of the resistance’s steadfastness and the steadfastness of our people, who prove at every stage that firm will and solid determination are the key to freedom, and that rights are not begged for but rather are seized through the sacrifices of free people.
This release constitutes a new stage in the ongoing struggle to liberate all prisoners, and is evidence that the occupation, despite its tyranny, cannot impose its equations by force as long as there are those in this people who fight and defend their rights. What we are witnessing today is another victory added to the record of the resistance, which has proven that its weapon is not only for defending the land, but is also the most effective way to break the chains of the prisoners, and to thwart the occupation’s attempts to make captivity permanent stations in the lives of our heroes.
While our people celebrate this victory, thousands of prisoners in the occupation prisons are still facing the most severe forms of oppression and abuse, as the enemy escalates its violations against them, in a desperate attempt to break their will and extinguish their resolve. But we say to them: Just as your comrades left today, you will leave tomorrow. The resistance is continuing on its path, and will not stop until the prisoners and the Al-Aqsa Mosque are liberated.
We call on our people to receive the prisoners in a manner befitting their status and sacrifices. They are the ones who spent the prime of their lives for the cause, and endured years of captivity and deprivation with patience and steadfastness. Today they return crowned with pride and dignity, in a scene that reflects their status in our conscience, and confirms that their cause will remain alive in our hearts until the last prisoner attains his freedom.

183 Palestinian prisoners will be liberated tomorrow in the next installment of the first stage of the Toufan al-Ahrar, Flood of the Free, prisoner exchange. They include 111 Palestinian prisoners from Gaza who have been abducted after 7 October 2023 by the occupation as well as 72 Palestinian prisoners with life sentences and long sentences.
So far, 400 Palestinian prisoners have been liberated from Zionist prisons in the first two installments of the Toufan al-Ahrar exchange.
Earlier today, Abu Obeida, the military spokesperson of the Izz al-Din al-Qassam Brigades, stated that, as part of the Al-Aqsa Flood prisoner exchange deal, the Al-Qassam Brigades have decided to release the following zionist prisoners tomorrow, Saturday, February 1, 2025:
1. Ofer Calderon
2. Keith Shmonsel Segal
3. Yarden Bibas
In a statement, the Prisoners’ Media Office said:
Within the framework of implementing the general framework agreement of the “Toufan al-Ahrar/Flood of the Free” deal, which included the release of 1,000 prisoners from Gaza who were arrested by the occupation after October 7, in addition to 110 prisoners serving life sentences, in exchange for the release of the list of 9 sick and injured prisoners.
Today, with the occupation handing over the list of prisoners who will be released tomorrow, the list included the name of one of the prisoners from the list of 9 patients, and based on that, it was agreed to add 12 prisoners with life sentences, and 111 prisoners from Gaza who were arrested after October 7.
We confirm that the 111 prisoners who will be released on Saturday are part of the list of 1,000 prisoners from Gaza who were arrested during military operations after October 7, as part of the stages of implementing the deal.
Nahed al-Fakhoury, of the Office of Martyrs, Prisoners and Wounded in Hamas, said:
Within the framework of implementing the fourth batch of the “Free Flood” deal, tomorrow, Saturday, the following will be released:
– 18 prisoners with life sentences.
– 54 prisoners with high sentences and life sentences.
– 111 prisoners from the Gaza Strip who were arrested after October 7.
The release of this batch comes within the framework of the relentless efforts made by the Palestinian resistance in the battle to liberate the prisoners, confirming its commitment to its national and moral duty to break the shackles of the prisoners and end their suffering inside the occupation prisons.
According to the lists released by the Prisoners’ Media Office, the following Palestinian prisoners will be liberated tomorrow.

110 Palestinian prisoners will be liberated in the next installment of the first stage of the Toufan al-Ahrar prisoner exchange, the Flood of the Free, on Thursday, 30 January. They include 32 with life sentences, 48 with long sentences, and 30 Palestinian children and youth. Among those who will be liberated are Mohammed Abu Warda, serving 48 life sentences (the third highest, after Abdullah Barghouti and Ibrahim Hamed, equivalent to Hassan Salameh) in Zionist jails, and Zakaria Zubeidi, one of the six heroes of the Freedom Tunnel escape from Gilboa prison, from Jenin camp.
They also include Ammar Mardi Howeitat, the Jordanian prisoner who last week refused deportation when Jordan refused to receive him, despite him being a Jordanian citizen.
So far, 290 Palestinian prisoners have been liberated from Zionist prisons in the first two installments of the Toufan al-Ahrar exchange.
Earlier today, Abu Obeida, the military spokesperson of the Izz al-Din al-Qassam Brigades, stated that, as part of the Al-Aqsa Flood prisoner exchange deal, the Al-Qassam Brigades have decided to release the following zionist prisoners tomorrow, Thursday, January 30, 2025:
1. Arbil Yehud
2. Agam Berger
3. Gadi Moshe Moses
The Zionist regime had attempted to use the exchange of Yehud as a pretext to restrict Palestinians from northern Gaza from returning to their homes, despite the fact that Saraya al-Quds had confirmed that they were holding her and that she would be released in the next exchange. After the exchange was set for Thursday, 30 January, the images of half a million Palestinians sweeping back to Northern Gaza in powerful images of return at the hands of the Resistance and in defeat of the occupier became a global symbol of victory and a harbinger of return to all of Palestine from the river to the sea, especially for the 70% of Palestinians from Gaza who are refugees forced from their homes and lands during al-Nakba.
According to the lists released by the Prisoners’ Media Office, the following Palestinian prisoners will be liberated tomorrow. Samidoun will provide updates throughout the day, and we encourage you to follow us on Telegram and X for the latest news.

Mehdi Aqqas from Qalqilya raises the victory sign from the bus to liberation.
Below is the list of names of 200 Palestinian prisoners, with life sentences and long sentences, to be liberated today from occupation prisons at the hands of the Resistance, as part of the second exchange of the Flood of the Free (Toufan al-Ahrar.)
Those who are being deported outside Palestine have been marked with an asterisk (*). They will remain in Cairo for one week before moving on to their next destination.
Salutes to all the liberated prisoners, their families and loved ones, the Resistance and the Palestinian people upon their liberation.
