5 June, NYC: Naksa 51 – By Land and by Sea, We Will Return

Tuesday, 5 June
6:00 pm
72nd St and 5th Avenue
Bay Ridge
Brooklyn, NY
Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/events/206488763484214/

ALL OUT ON JUNE 5TH – IN COMMEMORATION OF AL-NAKSA AND IN SUPPORT OF THE GREAT RETURN MARCH! BY SEA, BY LAND, FROM DIASPORA, WE WILL RETURN

Join Within Our Lifetime | United For Palestine on 72nd Street and 5th Avenue in Bay Ridge as we commemorate 51 years since al-Naksa. On June 5th, 1967, following the conclusion of a six day war that Israel started, Israel took control of the West Bank and Gaza, the 22% of Palestinian land it had failed to capture in 1948. Israel razed to the ground countless homes and villages, and 400,000 Palestinians were added to the nearly million refugees displaced during the Nakba. Approximately half of these Palestinians were being displaced for the second time in less than 20 years. As we pass the 70th anniversary of the Nakba, and 51 years since the Naksa, we acknowledge this ethnic cleansing campaign continues to this day, as the Zionist state guns down Palestinian protestors partaking in the Great March of Return, demanding an end to the siege of Gaza and the right to return to their homes. As Israel continues its genocidal campaign, we continue our resistance. Earlier this week, the bravery and resiliency of the Palestinian people was exemplified by those in the Great March of Return who heroically broke Israel’s siege of Gaza by boat in the Freedom Brigade.

Palestinians will return to our homes, villages, and land! Let us join to make our voices heard from New York City to Gaza, for all of historic Palestine, until liberation.

After the rally, we will be hosting a community iftar. Location to be announced!

5 June, Berlin: Solidarity with Gulaferit Unsal, Political Prisoner

Tuesday, 5 June
7:00 pm
K9 Größenwahn & Leichtsinn
Kinzigstrasse 9

Berlin, Germany
Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/events/1720907814652853/

Discussion with Gulaferit Unsal and fellow activists on the subject of political imprisonment and the use of Section 129 a/b to repress political movements.

This event will work to mobilize solidarity with political prisoners who, even after their “release” from confinement, are not really free. Solidarity after detention is just as necessary as solidarity during detention.

During her imprisonment, we stood in solidarity with the prisoner Gulaferit and now it is our duty to stand in solidarity with the person Gulaferit.

The international part of the discussion will include Charlotte Kates, the coordinator of Samidoun Palestinian Prisoner Solidarity Network,

Freedom for all political prisoners!

Samidoun Palestinian Prisoner Solidarity Network

Ending rally at Overport Secondary School
Durban, South Africa

People Against Oppression comprising of a range of KZN civil society organisations is hosting a Palestine Solidarity Protest March and Rally on Saturday 2 June 2018 in Durban.

The protest is in solidarity with the Palestinian people who have experienced yet another brutal attack in their 70th year under occupation and dispossession. The ambitious dream of negotiations and peaceful dialogue have long since evaporated.

It is now up to the international community to take the cause to new heights and further sanction Apartheid Israel. While the world looks to Mandela’s nation and the success story that is South Africa, our country’s citizens continue the struggle for liberation in Palestine and other countries such as Sri Lanka.

Among the guests attending will be Reverend Ntuthuko Nkosi -spokesperson of Kairos Palestine Southern Africa and Bishop Rubin Phillip – Anglican Diocese of Natal.

5 June, Milwaukee: Protest Israeli Ambassador’s Visit!

Tuesday, 5 June
11:15 am
Milwaukee County War Memorial Center
Milwaukee, WI
Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/events/198944740727192/

Since March 30th of this year, Israeli snipers, as well as other soldiers, have killed over 120 unarmed Palestinian in Gaza and wounded more than 12,000. On May 14 alone, 19 Palestinian medics were shot. Now one of Netanyahu’s closest allies, Ron Dermer, is coming to Milwaukee! Dermer is also close to Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner, who withheld his role in funding illegal settlements on the West Bank, while Trump has put him in charge of bringing “peace” to the Middle East. Our taxes are paying for these murders. We cannot be silent.

June 5th marks also the 51st anniversary of the Israeli occupation of Gaza, the West Bank, and Jerusalem. One of the only remaining occupations in our times. Palestinians in the occupied territories live under Apartheid rules that control their movement, their ability to work and farm their land and, in general, their ability to live in peace. Settler colonialists, protected by the Israeli army harass them, destroy their crops and trees, stop them from getting to their fields, and physically assault them. We are not going to let Dermer play the victim and cast blame on the occupied Palestinian people.

As a result of the recent massacres in Gaza, Israel has been put under pressure by the international community and people of conscience. In response, Bibi and his government embark on a campaign to distract and mislead. However, people of conscious are going to continue to stand up for Palestinian rights and will continue their cultural and economic boycott and divestment to pressure Israel in ending its apartheid rules.

On June 5th, as Ron Dermer is white washing genocide, join Jews, Arabs and people of conscience to affirm the right of return for those Palestinians and their descendants who were driven out of their home 70 years ago and since.
