8 May, Catania: No to the Giro d’Italia in service to Israeli crimes!

Tuesday, 8 May
10:00 am
Piazza Camilo Benso di Cavour
Catania, Italy
Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/events/220782965356781/

On the departure of the Giro d’Italia from Catania, we will gather to make our objection clear to the exploitation of sport by a state that practices apartheid against the Palestinian people and has no respect for UN resolutions or international law.

6 May, Calgary: March in Solidarity with the Great March of Return

Sunday, 6 May
1:00 pm

Calgary, Alberta
Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/events/1061555787332350/

THIS SUNDAY MAY 6th–we will rally for Gaza at city hall. It is the 6th week of protests for the #GreatReturnMarch and we will stand in solidarity with the protesters who have risked life and limb to peacefully demand their human rights and end Israel’s cruel and illegal siege and the humanitarian catastrophe it has caused. So far 47 protesters have been killed by Israeli snipers and over 6500 wounded. A second journalist was shot and killed.

Calgary stands with them.

5 May, Bonn: Who will stop Israel? Demonstration against the massacre in Gaza!

Saturday, 5 May
2:00 pm
Friedensplatz
Bonn, Germany
Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/events/208405326603005/

More than 45 dead and 6400 wounded in massacres in Gaza.

The Day of the Land on 30 March is an annual commemoration and protest in Palestine against the expropriation of Arab land by the Israeli state. On 30 March 1976, six Palestinians were shot dead as they participated in a general strike by Palestinian citizens of Israel against the seizure and expropriation of their land by the Israeli state.

Tens of thousands of protesters rallied in Gaza on 30 March this year in a mass rally for the right of return of Palestinian refugees, the Great March of Return. Over 70 percent of the Palestinian population in Gaza are refugees who have been denied the right to return to their homes, lands and villages for 70 years.

And again, the Israeli state revealed its nature: soldiers shot and killed 19 protesters and injured over 1500!

The international community must finally put pressure on Israel to recognize international law and Palestinian self-determination. This means:
– the end of the occupation and colonization of Palestine and the demolition of the apartheid wall
– the legal equality of the Palestinian citizens of Israel with their Jewish fellow citizens
– the recognition of Palestinian refugees’ right to return to their homeland under UN resolution 194 of 1948.

6 May, Albuquerque: Film Screening – “Radiance of Resistance”

Sunday, 6 May
1:00 pm
Guild Cinema
3405 Central Ave NE
Albuquerque, NM
Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/events/2103052756644837/

Winner of Best Documentary at Respect Human Rights Festival in Belfast, Northern Ireland, Radiance of Resistance tells the story of how Palestinian Janna Ayyad, 9 years old, and Ahed Tamimi, 14 years old, have gained international recognition for their creative resistance to Israeli incursion into their village Nabi Saleh. In December 2017 Ahed Tamimi (now 17) was arrested by the Israeli Defense Force and continues to be held in a military detention center. Her arrest has prompted international protests and news coverage.
The event launches a campaign to pass U.S. House Resolution 4391, ensuring that U.S. dollars do not fund Israeli military detention of Palestinian children. After the film a panel of speakers will lead a discussion.
The film is an intimate look at their everyday lives and their importance as part of the new generation of Palestinian non-violent resistance. “Nabi Saleh images illustrate changing asymmetry of Israeli-Palestinian conflict:”–The Guardian
