Please join us in commemorating the 70th anniversary of the Nakba, catastrophe, the mass displacement of Palestinians during the 1948 war that lead to the creation of Israel.
This event features a presentation on the history of Nakba, given by Palestinian-American human rights activist, Samia Assed.
This event also features a special reportback and panel discussion from a NM delegation who recently went to Palestine and will be sharing their personal eye-witness accounts of the Israeli occupation of Palestine, including the Palestinian village of Nabi Saleh (The village of Ahed Tamimi).
This delegation includes voices from Susan Schuurman and Peaches Blackbird from the Albuquerque Center for Peace and Justice, Melissa Tso from The Red Nation, as well as Rita and Dale Erickson from Friends of Sabeel.
Also, a homemade Palestinian dinner by Samia Assed will be provided.
