Saturday, 12 May
2:00 pm
Dealey Plaza
Dallas, TX
Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/events/197725290841471/

We are gathering as a community to declare:
All Palestinian refugees and their descendants have the right to return to Palestine.
Jerusalem is the capital of Palestine.
The 11 year Gaza blockade must end.
Freedom for all political prisoners.

Commemorating 70 years of resistance since the Nakba (‘day of the catastrophe’) in 1948 displaced hundreds of thousands of Palestinians, Texas is holding a state-wide day of solidarity.

“Our chains will be broken before we are.”
– Marwan Barghouti

This day of action will be a show of our unity with other communities who have faced racism, displacement, expulsion, deportation, classism, sexism, transphobia, xenophobia, Islamophobia, and antisemitism.

This is a family-friendly event. We encourage you to fly Palestinian flags, wear keffiyeh with pride, and bring signs and banners in the spirit of resistance.

Nakba Candlelight Vigil: 1948-2018

Westminster Students for Palestine Society will be hosting a Nakba Candlelight Vigil to remember all Palestinians lives lost in Nakba, and remembering every massacre of Palestinians that took place to create Israel.

We will provide candles, light, more information on these massacres, and the devastation that still persists in Palestine 70 years later.

The British Government and British Royal Family have publicly voiced support and admiration for Israel’s “70th anniversary of its independence day”, which Palestinians only know as Nakba day – the day of catastrophe. We will not accept this rewriting of history, which has erased the real history of how Israel, a settler colony, was created.

15 May, Gothenburg: Demonstration for Palestine

Tuesday, 15 May
5:30 pm
Kungstorget
March to Jussi Bjorlings for the Ship to Gaza boat
Gothenburg, Sweden

Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/events/199841943967597/

15 May marks 70 years since Al Nakba, the great catastrophe, when Israel expelled hundreds of thousands of Palestinians from their homes, preventing them from returning. During the 70 years since 1948, Israeli repression has only deepened and intensified. Israel continues to expel Palestinians from their homes and occupy Palestinian land.

On May 15, we remember and look forward to Al-Awda, the right of all Palestinians to return, supported by multiple UN Resolutions. Israel must end its illegal occupatuon of Palestinian territories, end the siege of Gaza and tear down the wall that is part of the apartheid system constructed by Israel.

Gather at Kungstorget for a march to Jussi Bjorlingsplats at the Opera for a final gathering to greet the Ship to Gaza as it sails off in the struggle to break the blockade. If you want to see a free Palestine liberated from the oppression of Israel and its allies, gather on 15 May at 5:30 at Kungstorget

Al Nakba – Fördrivningen 1948
70 år av ockupation & etnisk rensning

Demonstration

Bojkotta Israel – leve Palestina!

Together we mark the ongoing Nakba and demand the right of return, as affirmed on 11 December 1948 by the United Nations, 70 years ago. We also commemorate and celebrate the March of Return in Gaza and remember those who suffer in Yarmouk and elsewhere.

11 May, NYC: Emergency Demonstration – Stop the Slaughter in Gaza

Friday, 11 May
4:30 pm
Sen. Chuck Schumer’s Office
780 Third Avenue (between 47th and 48th St)
New York, NY

As the Palestinian Great March of Return faces another Friday of unpunished official Israeli violence, the urgency of protest is greater than ever. This emergency demonstration is aimed directly at the American lawmakers who enable the war crimes and human rights violations of the Israeli military. Senator Chuck Schumer of New York is one of the worst of these enablers in Congress, compelling the Democratic Socialists of America’s Anti-War Working Group to call for mass public mobilization outside his office in Manhattan.

WHERE: Hart Plaza, 2 Jefferson Ave, Downtown Detroit

March 15th, 2018, marks 70 years of the ethnic cleansing of almost 800,000 Palestinians from their homes and lands, at the hands of zionist gangs. Now, the situation in Palestine is just as urgent.

Israeli colonial domination continues to entrench itself across all of historical Palestine, led by one of the most right-wing governments Israel has ever had. The Israelis have used unimaginable brutality in response to the #GreatReturnMarch in Gaza, using chemical weapons and murdering dozens of unarmed protesters, including members of the press. And of course, Gaza’s Palestinians are in their 12th year of living under a brutal siege that has made life there almost unlivable, according to the UN.

Across the West Bank, the Israelis continue to move towards de facto annexation of large swaths of land. The corrupt Palestinian Authority (PA) is pushing for a meeting of the Palestine National Council to grant legitimacy to Mahmoud Abbas and his cronies. In addition, the racist U.S. administration, backed by both parties, has announced that it will be moving the U.S. embassy in Israel to Jerusalem on Nakba Day itself! And Palestinians inside the 1948 territories have no equality in a racist, apartheid Israeli state that treats them like 3rd class citizens.

But our people continue to resist. The Palestinians of Gaza have inspired the world with their protests demanding the full Right of Return to their original homes and lands. The Palestinians of the West Bank continue to resist both Israeli occupation and the PA’s complicity. And the Palestinians of Jerusalem refuse to abandon their city, their holy sites, and our capital!

All Palestinians around the world, joined by our allies and supporters, continue to reject Trump, reject Netanyahu, and demand an end to Israeli colonization of ALL of historical Palestine.

Join USPCN and PYM for a joint discussion, rally, and demo followed by dabke and music.

Existence is resistance! Until Liberation & Return!

2018 is the 70th anniversary of the Nakba, when over 750,000 Palestinian were uprooted and forced to flee their homes driven out by Zionist militias during the creation of the state of Israel.

In recent weeks, thousands of Palestinians have been
congregating in Gaza each Friday to take part in a series of protests
called “The Great Return March”. The Israeli government have
reacted to unarmed demonstrators with violence, issuing orders for
live ammunition to be used. As of the 29th April, 46 Palestinians have been killed and more than 5,000 injured. The protests, called by a broad spectrum of Palestinian civil society organisations, have two main demands.

Reaffirm the right of return
International law declares Palestinian refugees have the right to return to the homes from which they were forcibly expelled in 1948 and in 1967. Seventy percent of Gaza’s population are recognised by the UN as refugees. The right of Palestinian refugees and their descendants to return to home is enshrined in international law. In December 1948 the UN General Assembly adopted Resolution 194, which called for the return of Palestinian refugees to their homes. In June 1967, the UN Security Council passed Resolution 237 called on Israel to facilitate the return of refugees. These resolutions are still in force.

Bring an end to the decade long Israeli imposed siege of Gaza
Ten years of illegal blockade have isolated Gaza from the world and triggered major socio-economic and health crises. 80% of the population are dependent on humanitarian aid to survive, and 42% of essential medicines are currently at zero stock. The UN warns Gaza will be uninhabitable by 2020 unless urgent action is taken. As it stands, 97% of the water is not safe for consumption and there are electrical blackouts for around 16 hours each day.

WORLD KEFFIYEH DAY- 11TH MAY

#KeffiyehDay
