13 April, London: Palestinian Prisoners’ Day Protest

Friday, 13 April
3:00 pm – 5:00 pm

Under Hungerford Bridge, Southbank
(Between London Eye and Southbank Centre)

To mark Palestinian Prisoners Day, Inminds human right group will, on Friday 13th April 2018, hold a vigil on the Southbank of the River Thames in London to highlight the plight of Palestinian prisoners in Israeli occupation prisons, and to demand their freedom.

Figures published in March 2018 show the Israeli occupation abducted 1319 Palestinians in the previous two months, including 274 children, 23 women and 4 journalists. As of 28th February 2018, here are around 6,500 Palestinians caged in Israel prisons including 350 children and 63 women including 6 minor girls. Over 500 Palestinians are held without charge or trial indefinitely under administrative detention orders.

Inminds chair Abbas Ali said “The Israeli occupation is enforced by terrorising the indigenous Palestinian population; abducting its children; and imprisoning anyone who resists. In many cases the formality of a charge let alone a trial or even a set length of sentence are ignored – people are just locked up indefinitely on the whim of the colonizer. During interrogation physical torture, even of young children, is standard practice as is sexual abuse of children. Women have been electrocuted into submission, and many prisoners like Arafat Jaradat have died under torture (72 prisoners in total tortured to death since 1967). If they survive the interrogation then they face the military court and its ‘conveyor belt’ trial system with its ‘rubber stamp’ 99.74% conviction rate. In no other country in the world is such injustice law.”

Inminds chair Abbas Ali added “Some 20% of the Palestinian population of men, women, children and the elderly have been imprisoned by the Israeli military since 1967, every single Palestinian family has been effected. The prisoners form the cornerstone of Palestinian society, their suffering is felt in every home. We are here to show our solidarity with them and their families, and to demand their freedom from occupation dungeons. We are also here to demand that companies complicit in their suffering, like HP that provides the IT infrastructure for Israel’s torture dens and dungeons, end their complicity in these war crimes.”

Please join us on Friday 13thh April 2018 on the Southbank of the river Thames under Hungerford Bridge near the Southbank Centre.

Migrants bear the brunt of the ongoing militarisation of the European borders. While Fortress Europe heightens its walls, refugees drown in the Mediterranean,
get stuck in dire circumstances or end up in detention and being deported. The military and security industry reaps the benefits of the racist border policies of the EU.

Airbus is the second largest European arms producer. It sells aircraft and missiles to countries at war, repressive regimes and human rights abusers. This way it fuels the reasons that force people to flee their homes. Airbus again profits by providing EU with border security equipment to stop refugees. It is a key player in the successful industrial lobby for the militarisation of Europe’s borders.

Airbus’ headquarters are in The Netherlands (Leiden). Every year they hold their Annual General Meeting for shareholders at the Hotel Okura in Amsterdam. They celebrate the rising numbers of their profitable deadly business but they fail to mention the rising number of deaths in the Mediterranean, Middle-East and Africa where their products are being used.
We take this opportunity to give Airbus a taste of the consequences of their actions. Bring a white sheet for the die-in part of the action.

In the run up to the Airbus shareholders meeting:

Website: https://stopthewaronmigrants.noblogs.org/post/2018/03/09/demonstration-die-in-against-airbus-and-the-militarisation-of-eu-borders/

Elk jaar houdthet bedrijfhaarjaarlijkse algemene aandeelhoudersvergadering in Hotel Okura in Amsterdam.

International call to action in support of The Great Return March!

We are calling our community and allies to take action and launch demonstrations in support of the Great Return March on April 14th, just as the righteous resisters in Gaza have declared. The time has come for our youth wherever they may be to raise their voices in support of the rightful struggle of our people in Gaza, and for our youth in diaspora to proclaim we will never surrender the right of return. Now more than ever when we seem the most divided, we must come together in collectively asserting our right to return and our dream of the total liberation of our people and homeland. There will be no solution without the total end of the Zionist colonization of Palestine–return is our right, and demand: we will return! Palestine will be free!

We will meet at 12 pm on Saturday, April 14th at the Los Angeles City Hall.
Please share this event widely.

11 April, NYC: Gaza Solidarity Rally

Wednesday, 11 April
1:00 pm
Low Steps at Columbia University
New York City
Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/events/378205732659426/

Join us to show solidarity with the 30,000 Palestinians participating in the #GreatReturnMarch, seeking an end to the siege on Gaza that has left 2 million Palestinians imprisoned for over a decade and a return to the homes from which they were ethnically cleansed in 1948.

On March 30 2018, the protesters’ attempt to march back home was greeted with bullets by the state that violently displaced them. Israeli snipers fired on the protesters with live ammunition. 17 people were killed and over 1500 were injured. On April 6, seven more protesters were killed by those snipers including Yaser Murtaja, a journalist wearing a protective “PRESS” vest. Following these brutal killings, the Israeli army claimed that “Nothing was carried out uncontrolled; everything was accurate and measured, and we know where every bullet landed.”

Despite the ruthless violence of the Israeli state, the protesters are determined to continue their demonstration until May 15, the 70th anniversary of the Nakba, when 750,000 Palestinians were forcibly expelled from their homes. Join us to show that we stand in solidarity with them, and will continue until their battle to return home is won.

We gather as a protest against last Friday’s shooting of defenseless protesters in Gaza, with 1400 wounded and 18 killed – as once again, Israel’s attacks on civilians have no international consequences.

We show our sadness and sympathy with the wounded and survivors, from residents of Norrebro to our fellow citizens in Palestine.

The proceeds will go to the Red Crescent, which provides first aid, runs ambulances for the wounded and operates hospitals in Gaza.

At 7:00 pm, there will be a talk by Sarah Pritchett of the Euro-Mediterranean Human Rights Monitor on the situation in Gaza.

Come and eat for Gaza!

50 kr for adults, 25 kr for kids. Playroom and buffet

Støtte-folkekøkken for civile i Gaza
