6 April, Vancouver: Solidarity Vigil with Palestine – Denounce Land Day Massacre

Friday, 6 April
4:30 pm
CBC Plaza
700 Hamilton St
Vancouver
Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/events/218686625532953/

On March 30, 2018, Israeli military forces callously killed 17 unarmed Palestinian protestors and injured hundreds more in Gaza. The protestors were part of the Great Return March as well as marking Land Day.
Canadian government officials have not uttered any word to condemn this massacre, let alone apply any sanctions. Canadian media, including the CBC, have tried to obscure Israel’s crimes by talking about “clashes” and “confrontations” and “rioting”. However, the Israeli military themselves admitted in a tweet that they later deleted: “everything was accurate and measured, and we know where every bullet landed.” Israeli media has shown multiple pictures of Israeli snipers lined up on earth embankments, ready to fire at civilians. Which they did, shooting people kneeling in prayer and shooting others in the back as they were moving away from the border.

We demand that Israel be held accountable for these continued crimes against the Palestinian people; it is only because of the lack of action and complicity from Western countries that Israel acts with such impunity!

13 April, Albany: Emergency Protest of Israeli Massacre in Gaza

Friday, 13 April
6:00 pm
Townsend Park
Albany, NY
Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/events/1718810168212811/

Gather at Townsend Square between Central & Henry Johnson.

On March 30, Israeli occupation forces murdered at least 13 Palestinians and injured more than 1,200. using live ammunition, rubber-coated steel bullets, and huge quantities of tear gas. The massive protests in cities across Gaza — the world’s largest open-air prison — were held on Land Day and were the start of a six-week long mobilization leading up to al-Nakba Day, May 15, which commemorates the expulsion of more than 750,000 Palestinians from their homeland in 1948 to make way for the state of Israel. The protest is called the Great March of Return, and demands that the expelled Palestinian be allowed to return to their land.

The Israeli occupation forces, while attempting to turn reality upside down by claiming to have been acting in “self-defense,” reported suffering zero casualties.

Join us to protest this latest atrocity by the Israeli occupiers and stand in solidarity with the Palestinian people.

We also, invite groups to come and give announcements of events.

Looking for Co-Sponsors.

7 April, Melbourne: Protest Israel’s Massacre in Gaza

Saturday, 7 April
2:00 pm

State Library of Victoria
328 Swanston St
Melbourne, Victoria
Australia
Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/events/1687655018009341/

We invite all supporters of justice to stand with us this Saturday at 2pm, State Library to condemn Israel’s recent assault on protesters and affirm our solidarity and pride in the bravery and resilience of protesting Gazan refugees.

We are outraged and terrified by Israel’s latest massacre where protesters at the Gaza border were gunned down by Israeli snipers and troops.

This march and camp in which will continue for six weeks recreates the movement of refugees from now Israeli cities to Gaza. Residents of Gaza are demanding their Right of Return to these erased and ethnically cleansed cities in commemoration of 70 years of Nakba, or Catastrophe which marks the beginning of genocide and Israeli occupation.

We call on Australian politicians to break political and economic ties and condemn the brutal strikes on families camping at the Gaza border in resistance to the upcoming 70 years of Nakba.

7 April, Manchester: Emergency Protest – End the Massacre! Stop Arming Israel!

Saturday, 7 April
1:00 pm
Piccadilly Gardens
Manchester, UK
Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/events/2066322060278822/

When unarmed Palestinians marched to the Gaza border, a border that has entrapped them in a humanitarian crisis, they were met with brutal force from the Israeli army. This resulted in bloodshed and a massacre of Palestinian civilians, with 17 killed and over 1400 injured. Palestinians mobilised for the Great Return March to commemorate the 42nd annual anniversary of Land Day and to protest the ongoing occupation and siege of Gaza. Despite Israel’s brutal massacre, the Palestinians remain resilient and determined to protest their oppressors and plan to march every Friday for the next 6 weeks.

The deterioration of Palestinian life has been aided by the impunity they receive from international governments, with key support coming from the UK. Rather than holding Israel to account for what are well-documented human rights abuses and breaches of international law, they have failed to impose a single sanction against Israel’s regime and continue to openly support what a UN report described as a system of apartheid. As UK citizens, it is our responsibility to pressure our government and corporations to end their support of Israel.

Israel uses military force to maintain its oppression of Palestinians. HSBC is a major shareholder in companies selling weapons and military technology to Israel and also provides those companies with the loans they need to operate.

Join the emergency protest/ march calling for an end to complicity in Israel’s military regime. We will meet at Manchester Piccadilly gardens at 1pm and march to HSBC. Together, our voices will and must be heard!

7 April, Derry: Protest in Solidarity with the Great Return March

Saturday, 7 April
3:00 pm
Diamond War Memorial
Derry, Ireland
Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/events/228770444351887/

The Derry Branch of Ireland Palestine Solidarity Campaign, Derry Anti-War Coalition, Sinn Fein, People Before Profit, SDLP and other civil society groups will be holding a rally in Solidarity with The Great March of Return and the murdered Land Day protesters in Gaza.
The rally will begin at the Diamond War Memorial at 3pm on Saturday 7th April proceeding via Shipquay Street to the Guildhall Square.
Speakers at the rally are Elisha McCallion, MP Sinn Fein. Fadl Mustapha, Palestinian Refugee and activist. Eamonn McCann, People Before Profit. Paul Gallagher, Independent Councillor Derry City & Strabane District Council. The leader of SDLP – Colum Eastwood has issued a statement in support of the aims of the Great March of Return. The SDLP party conference which is happening on the day of the rally prevents representatives from attending.
On Friday 30th March 2018, 10’s of 1000’s of Palestinians in Gaza gathered at the border fence for the beginning of the Great Return March home to the land and homes stolen from them and their forbears in 1948. They were met with lethal, accurate pinpoint brutality. Shoot-to-kill snipers, tanks with artillery, drones with teargas rained down upon peaceful unarmed protesters. 15 Palestinians lost their lives, murdered by Israeli Occupation Forces. 1400+ were injured, many seriously.
We call on the Irish & UK governments, the EU and the United Nations to take action against Israel’s war crimes and total impunity. We demand the expulsion of Israeli diplomats from Ireland and for sanctions to be imposed. It is not enough to churn out pointless platitudes time after time while Israel continues to flout international law and conventions.
Palestinians in Gaza live under a brutal siege imposed by Israel and enforced by Egypt and the inaction of the International Community. They are exercising their legal right enshrined in UN Resolution 194 – the right of return.
PLEASE COME OUT AND SHOW YOUR SUPPORT FOR PALESTINE AND ANGER AT THE BRUTALITY OF THE  ISRAELI OCCUPATION FORCES.
