Den Haag: Protest: Solidarity with Palestine! #SaveSheikhJarrah
May 15 @ 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm
Saturday, 15 May
Den Haag, the Netherlands
May 15 marks the annual Nakba remembrance day, and on this day we take the opportunity to stand in solidarity with Palestine and protest together at the Hofplaats in the Hague, against ongoing ethnic cleansing, apartheid and the threat of eviction faced by Palestinian families in Sheikh Jarrah.
The Israeli court announced it would postpone the Sheikh Jarrah decision to a later date, however, we perceive this decision as an attempt to subdue the current uprisings in Jerusalem, and as an extension of Israel’s decade-long strategy to forcibly displace Palestinians. Sheikh Jarrah is just one of countless examples of Palestinians that are facing eviction, alongside the dozens of homes that are demolished and the reality of everyday life under occupation and apartheid for Palestinians in the West Bank, Jerusalem, and Gaza.
Therefore, it is time for us to stand up. Bring your banners and raise your voice against injustice!
It is time for the silent majority to speak!
