On the day of the opening of the US embassy in Jerusalem on May 14th, the Israeli armed forces continued to repress demonstrations of Palestinians in Gaza with blood. The cost of the day is terrible: 52 dead and over 2000 injured. In his speech Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu praised the Israeli armed forces “defending the borders”.

From March 30th, when the March for the Return was launched, every Friday Israeli snipers fired on unarmed Palestinian civilians protesting against the illegal siege of the Gaza Strip, for the right of return of refugees enshrined in UN Resolution 194, and against the move of the US embassy in Jerusalem, killing over 90 Palestinian and wounding many thousands more.

We are mobilizing alongside the Palestinian people to say no more impunity for Israeli crimes, as the occupatin state continues to violate the rights of Palestinians. For decades, Israel has imposed on the Palestinians a regime of military occupation, colonization and apartheid amid the silence and complicity of the international powers. Israel must be faced with its responsibilities and must be forced to respect human rights and international law through the adoption of boycott, divestment and sanctions, as happened for apartheid South Africa.

We mobilize on May 15th on the 70th anniversary of the Nakba, the catastrophe of the Palestinians who, through ethnic cleansing by the Zionist militias that led to the creation of the state of Israel, have been transformed into a people without land and without rights. The Nakba continues today through the creation of illegal settlements on Palestinian land, house demolitions and forced expulsions.

We mobilize against the recognition of Jerusalem as the capital of Israel, which supports the illegal annexation of East Jerusalem, and the move of the US embassy in violation of international law.

We call on all supporters to mobilize against the crimes of Israel and to support the struggle of the Palestinians for freedom, justice and equality.

Participate in the rally TUESDAY MAY 15 7:00 PM in Piazza Nettuno in Bologna.

ANCORA STRAGI IN PALESTINA
BASTA CON I CRIMINI ISRAELIANI!

Presidio di solidarietà con il popolo palestinese
martedì 15 maggio ore 19:00 in piazza Nettuno a Bologna

16 May, Lille: Stop the Massacre in Gaza!

Wednesday, 16 May
6:30 pm
Grand Place
Lille, France
Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/events/235718210514649/

The Association France Palestine Solidarité 59/62 is calling for a rally on Wednesday 16 May at 6:30 pm at Grand Place in Lille, in support of the Palestinian Great March of Return which “commemorates” the Nakba. Among its demands: the right of return of Palestinian refugees and the lifting of the blockade that has suffocated the Gaza Strip for 11 years.

From the first demonstration, on March 30, the Israeli army fired tear gas using drones and fired indiscriminately at the demonstrators with live ammunition.

As of May 13, 2018, there are 54 dead and more than 8000 wounded Palestinians including more than 1700 by bullets.

These massacres are committed once more with impunity, with the complicity of France. We have the responsibility to demand from our leaders that they punish the criminal state of Israel that daily violates international law and demand the break-up of the treaty-European Union Israel, to which a military embargo says to be imposed.

May 14 will be the day the United States officially moves its embassy to Jerusalem. We will recall that Jerusalem is and will always remain the one and indivisible capital of Palestine!

Come on May 16th, 6:30 pm, Grand Place in Lille!
Long live free and independent Palestine!

On 15 May, we commemorate 70 years of Nakba, when over 750,000 Palestinians were expelled from their homes. This Tuesday marks 70 years of continuous catastrophe, occupation, apartheid, colonialism, violations of international law and the human rights of the Palestinian people.

As Palestine rises in the face of injustice in the Great Return March, we will demonstrate in front of the Israeli Embassy at 7:30 pm to demand justice for Palestine and all its people.

¡Viva Palestina Libre! ????

Join JFP, BDS Calgary and other concerned Canadians as we call for an end to the mass killing that has been happening in Gaza since land day. In 6 weeks escalated today to 52 plus murdered and over 3000 injured innocent civilians protest their most basic human rights.

Israel continues to commit human rights atrocities against Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank

This is the bloodiest massacre in Gaza since 2014. Innocent children, women and men exercising their basic rights to protest the ongoing siege and occupation of the Gaza Strip are being killed at this very moment.

We must speak out and we must stand together, our voices together are stronger. Join us tomorrow for a protest to condemn Israel and its crimes against humanity!

15 May, Olympia: Commemoration of 70 Years of Nakba

Tuesday, 15 May
11:00 am to 5:00 pm
WA State Capitol
103 Capitol Way S
Olympia, WA
More info: https://rachelcorriefoundation.networkforgood.com/events/6703-nakba-day-2018

Join RCF in Olympia on May 15th, 2018 to observe the 70th anniversary of al Nakba, or “the catastrophe,” the widespread ethnic cleansing campaign against Palestinians perpetrated by Zionist forces leading up to the establishment of the State of Israel on May 15, 1948. The campaign of ethnic cleansing displaced more than 750,000 Palestinians and destroyed more than 400 of their villages.

As our Palestinian friends and colleagues in Gaza continue their incredible grassroots organizing efforts with the Great Return March in the face of extreme military violence, it is more important than ever for international audiences to show our solidarity and support for their cause. We hope you can join us in our own community to highlight the need for global support of the right of return and ending the siege on Gaza.

OLYMPIA OBSERVANCE ACTIVITIES

RCF kindly requests attendees to RSVP to the best of their abilities. These community events require planning, staff time, and funding to organize, so the more accurate attendance numbers we have, the better the events will be!

Nakba Display, WA State Capitol, 11 am-5 pm

RCF will display “Palestine: Stolen Homeland,” a collection of tent-style placards inscribed with the names of Palestinian villages destroyed in 1948 on the Capitol Lawns (next to the Tivoli Fountain) from 11 am-5 pm to educate the public about al Nakba and the Right of Return.

The installation was created by the Seattle Mideast Awareness Campaign and has been installed at several sites across western Washington, educating the public about the ongoing ethnic cleansing against Palestinians.

Honoring the Great Return March, WA State Capitol to Traditions Cafe, 5-6:30 pm

  • 5-6 pm: Gather with RCF and fellow community members to view and pack up the Nakba display, share stories, and honor the Palestinians nonviolently demonstrating in Gaza.
  • 6-6:30 pm: At 6 pm we will walk silently as a group down from the Capitol to Traditions Fair Trade Cafe for a film screening of 1948: Creation & Catastrophe. This silent walk will honor those killed and injured in the Great Return March, along with all the Palestinians around the world waiting to return home. (This is a sidewalk procession, not a street march. Signs will be provided.)
Film Screening of 1948: Creation & Catastrophe, Traditions Fair Trade Cafe, 7-9 pm

We will screen the film 1948: Creation & Catastrophe at 7 pm. We’ll end with a list of ways we can support Palestinians at home and abroad with concrete action items. If you plan to attend the film, we are asking for a $10 donation to cover the cost of film screening rights. You can make the donation via this ticketing page or at the door. Please note, nobody will be denied admission due to lack of funds.

About the film:

Through riveting and moving personal recollections of both Palestinians and Israelis, 1948: Creation & Catastrophe reveals the shocking events of the most pivotal year in the most controversial conflict in the world. It tells the story of the establishment of Israel as seen through the eyes of the people who lived it. But rather than being a history lesson, this documentary is a primer for the present. It is simply not possible to make sense of what is happening in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict today without an understanding of 1948. This documentary is the last chance to hear first-hand accounts of what took place in Haifa, Jaffa, Dayr Yasin, Acre, Jerusalem, Ramle and Lydda from the Israelis and Palestinians who personally fought in and fled from this land. These shocking and dramatic events reveal the core of what drives the conflict today. The documentary includes interviews with veterans, refugees, survivors and historians of the war collected in Palestine, Israel, Jordan, Lebanon, the United Kingdom, Canada and the United States. Those who lived through the war are the centerpiece of the story, but respected historians, including Charles D. Smith, Avi Shlaim, Nur Masalha, Benny Morris, Ilan Pappe, Rashid Khalidi and Sharif Kanaaneh provide context for the events. By Andy Trimlett and Ahlam Muhtaseb / Palestine – US / 2017 / 99 mins
