All Israeli Diplomats Out of Ireland Now Protest

Over 100 unarmed protesters have been slaughtered in Gaza and more than 12 thousand injured in #GreatReturnMarch since 31st March by the US Backed IDF.

How many more men, women and children do Israel need to murder, blockade, kidnap and jail before the Irish Government takes action?

It’s Time to Expel All Israeli Diplomats from Ireland

Berlin protests respond to massacre in Gaza, demand Palestinian return and liberation

Palestinian community organizations and solidarity activists in Berlin held a series of events in commemoration of 70 years of Nakba and in protest of the latest Israeli massacres in Gaza. These events were joined by a wide range of organizations, including F.O.R. Palestine, the Democratic Palestine Committees, BDS Berlin, the Palestinian Association in Germany and many others, including Samidoun activists.

On 12 May, the Palestinian Committee to Commemorate the Nakba held a large festival in Hermannplatz with a full day of booths, speakers and cultural performances, including cultural dances performed by the Al-Awda Dabkeh Troupe. The event included an audio message from Archbishop Attallah Hanna in Palestine, saluting the participants and organizers and urging the continuation of the Palestinian struggle. Hundreds of people participated in the festival throughout the day, including Palestinian community members and solidarity activists.

Speakers included Charlotte Kates, International Coordinator of the Samidoun Palestinian Prisoner Solidarity Network; they emphasized the continuing Palestinian struggle for return and liberation over 70 years of Nakba and denounced the role of the German and other European governments in continuing to support the Israeli occupation state.

The actions continued on 14 May with two actions organized to commemorate the Nakba and protest the massacre of 61 Palestinians in Gaza by Israeli occupation forces on the same day. The Palestinian Committee to Commemorate al-Nakba gathered in front of the Brandenburg Gate for a protest in solidarity with the Great Return March.

Speakers denounced the massacre and urged action to stop Israeli impunity as well as denouncing the role of the United States and European powers in continually supporting Israeli colonialism.

Shortly thereafter, a protest to remember 70 years of Nakba began in Hermannplatz, with participation from a number of youth activists, BDS organizers and others. They carried signs calling for the boycott of Israel as well as Palestinian flags and lists commemorating the over 500 Palestinian villages destroyed in al-Nakba.

Protest actions continued on 15 May with another mass mobilization at Brandenburger Tor organized by the Palestinian Committee to Commemorate al-Nakba. Despite pouring rains, hundreds came together once again to demand freedom for Palestine and the right of return for Palestinian refugees.

Speakers denounced the role of the United States and the move of its embassy to Jerusalem, demanding the liberation of Jerusalem and all of Palestine. Representing Palestinian organizations, solidarity groups and political parties like the Marxist-Leninist Party of Germany (MLPD), speakers emphasized their stand with the Palestinian people and the continuing struggle of Palestinians over 70 years of Nakba.

400 in Toulouse, France protest Zionist crimes in Gaza

The following report is largely translated from the French by Coup Pour Coup 31, the anti-imperialist collective in Toulouse that is a member of the Samidoun Palestinian Prisoner Solidarity Network:

Photo: Coup Pour Coup 31

On 17 May, over 400 people took to the streets in Toulouse, France to stand with Palestine, in response to the Israeli massacre in Gaza on 14 May. Participants read out the names of the 113 Palestinians murdered by the Israeli occupation army since the beginning of the attacks on the Great March of Return in Gaza on 30 March. Organizations gave speeches as participants read out poems and held out candles to remember the Palestinian lives taken by the occupation.

Protesters carried signs demanding freedom for Ahed Tamimi, Salah Hamouri and all Palestinian political prisoners, including Georges Abdallah, the Lebanese Communist struggler for Palestine imprisoned in France for 33 years. Coup Pour Coup 31 signs bearing the slogans, “Intifada Vaincra!” (Victory to the Intifada) and “Al-Quds, Capital of Palestine! Palestine from the River to the Sea!” were also widely carried.

A number of Palestinian and solidarity organizations participated in the protest, as did a delegation from the Maison Franco-Kurde Midi-Pyrénées, who affirmed their support as Kurdish organizers for the Palestinian resistance and denounced the Israeli crimes.

The next protest in Toulouse will take place on Wednesday, 23 May, where participants will gather at Place Esquirol to protest the attendance of Israeli ambassador Aliza Ben-Noun at a celebration hosted by the Toulouse Chamber of Commerce. The protest is demanding Ben-Noun leave Toulouse and the end of French diplomatic relations with the Israeli state.

Palestinian writer Khaled Barakat, the coordinator of the international Campaign to Free Ahmad Sa’adat, issued a video encouraging participation in the demonstration:

The Coup Pour Coup 31 speech at the demonstration met with wide support. The transcript is below:

I am speaking on behalf of the anti-imperialist collective Coup Pour Coup 31.

Once again, we are gathered here in Toulouse to support the Palestinian people against the colonization of their homeland, Palestine.

Once again, we mourn the dozens killed in Gaza and the thousands of wounded men and women who were coldly shot down by the Zionist occupation as they marched with courage and determination to demand the end of the blockade of Gaza and their right to return, as part of the Great March for Return, which for several weeks has brought tens of thousands of people to protest in Gaza. We in Coup For Coup 31 lost two friends, two comrades in these massacres: Ahmad al-Adaini and Ahmed Abu Hussein, both members of the PFLP.

Once again we denounce the imperialists’ support for the ethnic cleansing of an entire people – as we see today in Trump’s provocation to declare Jerusalem/Al-Quds the capital of the Zionist state.

Photo: Coup Pour Coup 31

Once again, we shout our anger at the French government, which supports the Israeli state in its racist and colonialist policies. Macron continues to lock up a Palestinian resistance fighter, an Arab communist, Georges Abdallah. The same government keeps silent about the imprisonment of the French-Palestinian lawyer Salah Hamouri and criminalizes the boycott of Israel.

And yet, the Palestinian people are still standing and resisting colonization more than ever before. 70 years after the Nakba, it is clear that no normalization is possible with the Zionist state, no peace is possible. What we support is victory! The victory of Palestine, free of racism and colonialism, throughout all of Palestine: from the river to the sea!

And the Arab masses revolt and protest despite their corrupt governments in the pay of the imperialists and Israel. In Jordan, Lebanon, Algeria, Morocco, Tunisia, they are all shouting for a free Palestine!

Photo: Coup Pour Coup 31

And the Kurdish PKK and their allies have denounced this new massacre in Gaza, presenting the way to a new alliance in the region against imperialism and its allies.

And still, Georges Abdallah, imprisoned in French jails for 34 years, is still standing strong, continuing to stand alongside his Palestinian brothers and sisters.

And in the imperialist countries, thousands of people show their support for the freedom of the Palestinian people and their support for the boycott of Israel.

So, let us not resign ourselves! Join the anti-imperialist resistance, join the anti-Zionist resistance, join Coup Pour Coup 31 and the united initiatives for Palestine!

26 May, Borgholm: Demonstration for the Palestinian people

Saturday, 26 May
1:00 pm
Torget i Borgholm
Borgholm, Sweden
Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/events/223852675055505/

The Left Party in Borgholm and the Salam Cultural Association are organizing a demonstration for the Palestinian people. We will fundraise for aid to Gaza. Last autumn, over 100 marched in Borgholm in a protest against Trump’s declaration to move the U.S. embassy to Jerusalem. When the embassy was opened a few days ago, many Palestinians were killed and injured during protests. Let’s stand for justice and peace! Support the Palestinian cause.

26 May, Nybro: Demonstration for Palestine

Saturday, 26 May
2:00 pm
Torget i Nybro
Nybro, Sweden
Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/events/484301895322781/

14 May will be remembered as a sorrowful day, when Israel committed a massacre against Palestinians in Gaza. 59 Palestinians were killed by Israeli soldiers on this day, including 5 children, the youngest of whom was only 8 months old.

The Great Return March began 6 weeks ago, as Palestinians began to march back to the land from which they were expelled. They were met by Israeli military violence; the occupying army killed over 100 Palestinians and injured thousands.

Sweden must take a strong stand against this. The Communist Party demands the immediate expulsion of the Israeli ambassador and a total boycott of trade with the terrorist state of Israel.

27 May, Toronto: What are you walking with? Protest the Walk with Israel

Sunday, 27 May
11:00 am
Toronto, ON – follow Facebook or email for precise location
Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/events/1661871073888874/

Since 1970, supporters of the Israeli state have gathered for an annual Walk With Israel, hosted by the United Jewish Appeal (UJA). For the past 17 years, a group of dedicated people — both Jewish and non-Jewish — have stood steadfast in opposing this uncritical support of a violent colonial state.

On Sunday, May 27, join us as we stand together behind banners proclaiming “Justice for Palestine,” “Occupation is not our Judaism” and “From Turtle Island to Palestine—Colonization is a Crime”!

Stay tuned – we will announce the exact location closer to the date! There will be snacks at the rally, and some singing for when spirits are low. Please see the disclaimer below for a heads-up about past experiences.
________________________________________________

Israel attempts to justify its violent policies of annexation, incarceration, and discrimination by claiming they are for the good of all Jewish people. We know that this is not true; state violence does not keep anyone safe.

In response, we will again gather to form a counter-presence to the UJA’s Walk With Israel to state that we oppose the apartheid system that denies the basic human rights of Palestinians.

The Canadian government’s support for racist policies in the state of Israel is consistent with ongoing violence and genocide against the Indigenous peoples of Turtle Island (North America). We look to the leadership of Indigenous peoples around the world resisting settler-colonialism and state violence.

We recognize that “a land without a people for a people without a land” is, and has always been, a dangerous myth. The Jewish National Fund, and Israel’s other fundraising and lobbying groups, claims to “make the desert bloom,” but in actuality, they work to unlawfully expropriate Palestinian land. We see through these fictions, and we speak truth to power.

We gather together for this demonstration in solidarity with the people of Palestine — such as those participating in the Great March of Return in Gaza. Walking with Israel is walking with a state that opens fire on unarmed protesters and journalists.

*** Disclaimer: This peaceful counter-presence to the Walk With Israel tends to evoke confrontational behaviour from people in the Walk who find our messages threatening.

Previous years’ participants have experienced racist and sexist language, Islamophobic and anti-Arab comments, as well as aggressive behaviour from Walk participants. Additionally, the militant, white supremacist group known as the Jewish Defense League (JDL) is in the habit of physically bullying protesters. We share this information so that you can make informed choices about your participation. We seek to create a safer space in which to protest, and will have marshals present to assist.

In preparation for these challenges we will be holding a de-escalation training on May 19th. Please contact WhatAreYouWalkingWith@gmail.com for more information.
